A big thank-you for the donation of PPE from Bianca Amor's Liquidation Supercentre. Your support of local community organizations during these times is so appreciated! Did you know they donated over 4 pallets of PPE to help support vulnerable populations in our city? ❤️ (This is just a preview of the NINE boxes we recieved!)And we can’t forget to thank United Way Regina, who receives and organizes these massive donations, and has done so much to support local organizations throughout the pandemic. We are so grateful for the continued support of our community, it enables us to make sure we’re doing the best job we can to support the individuals we work with safely. ... See MoreSee Less

Schizophrenia is indisputably one of the most stigmatized and poorly understood mental illnesses. Approximately 3.2 million people live with schizophrenia in the U.S., which can be triggered by a combination of genetics and environment. It distorts the way a person thinks, acts, expresses emotions, perceives reality, and relates to others. People with schizophrenia experience psychosis, an experience where a person can’t tell what’s real from what’s imagined, they may lose touch with their reality, engage in strange behavior. It is an extremely challenging condition to live with, but recovery is possible. A wonderful example of the brilliance of some people living with schizophrenia is Nobel Prize Winner John Nash. Elyn Saks, a Yale Law School Graduate and Professor at the USC is an inspiring example of the possibilities of living with schizophrenia (TED Talk: bit.ly/2ZHDCAZ). Please stand up for, support people living with schizophrenia – too few people do, sadly. Meet people affected by - those living with or support someone - schizophrenia on ForLikeMinds.comIf you’re living with schizophrenia, please be extra careful. A recent study found that people with schizophrenia were nearly three times more likely to die from COVID-19. www.webmd.com/lung/news/20210128/covid-especially-risky-with-schizophrenia#1 ... We want to give a special thank you to the City of Regina for their contributions from the Community Investment Grant Program Culture Grant that has been used to support members of our HOMES Housing First program.‘It helps me ‘mentally, spiritually, and with blessings, smudging, and ceremonies such as the pipe ceremony- I thank you for all teaching.’‘I like to come here to share our stories and culture’‘They help me ‘stay in touch with myself.’ I talk about my ‘beading, smudge and how I’m doing.’ Through the contribution of the City of Regina | Municipal Government we are able to provide critical support to those most in need. These supports are imperative to support people as they move along their healing journeys. Here is a glimpse of a beading project one of the program participants has been working on thanks to the contribution. ... See MoreSee Less
